Changes to Open Studio due to Covid-19 JULY 2020
Following Government guidelines, we have made some changes to how Open Studio operates in order to protect both customers and staff.
Please read this carefully and only book Open Studio time if you are happy to comply with these changes.
Booking and payment
Everyone will need to complete a one off registration on our website before being allowed to use the studio facilities. We are required to obtain the contact details of every person who uses the space and the timing of that visit. Your information is securely stored and will not be passed on.
Please book and pay for your studio time online*. Space will be limited due to socially distanced work areas. Please arrive on time for your slot. If you are early, please wait outside and don’t come into the Studio. If you arrive late for your time slot, you may still have to leave at the scheduled time if another customer is booked in.
Due to the limited spaces we will not be offering any refunds or other changes if you miss your booked slot**. Please do not book if you are unsure of your availability.
We have introduced a new simpler Membership Scheme to replace the Loyalty card. Further details can be found here Membership
Safety in the Studio
You (and the team) will be required to wear a mask or other face covering at all times in the studio. We would recommend that you pop outside for fresh air as necessary.
Please wash your hands well on arrival and as you leave. There will also be plenty of hand sanitiser available.
Please bring your own towel and an apron if you want one and a bag to take them home in safely.
Please bring your own drink. There will be no refreshments or cups provided and it can get very warm. If you bring a snack, please eat it outside.
Please travel light. Only bring what is necessary into the studio as we will not have a cloakroom area. If you are doing this? It seems to be what most similar places are doing.
Please keep your distance from others and be patient if things take a little longer than usual.
We will be providing well spaced out workstation areas on the table with perspex screens between customers. We will only be using every other pottery wheel. We will provide each wheel or workstation with clean tools, water and clay and will ask you to remain in your seats for the duration of your stay as much as possible. The team will bring you what you need (within reason!) Of course you can always pop outside for some fresh air.
At the end of your session, we will ask you to clean your tools and work area with clean soapy water before you leave. We will allow you extra time after your session to do this. When you have left we will then sanitise the area and tools before the next potter uses the space.
We will endeavour to make things as safe as possible here however please be aware that we cannot make your visit entirely risk free. Please make sure you are happy with the precautions we have taken before you book.
We realise that the Studio experience will be quite different but hope that you still manage to have a fun,creative and productive time here.
*If you are unable to access online booking, please phone the studio the day before to book a slot. Please only do this if you have to. Mornings are best.
**IF, AFTER BOOKING, YOU OR ANYONE IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD SHOWS SYMPTOMS OR TESTS POSITIVE - PLEASE GET IN TOUCH AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO LET US
KNOW. DO NOT COME TO THE STUDIO.
If you need to quarantine we will reschedule or refund your booking.
