Born in Sicily, Roberto grew up immersed in the rich traditions of Sicilian ceramics. Trained by master potters from a young age, his talent was quickly recognised and at just 17 he won the prestigious World Championship of Faenza. After completing a Diploma in Ceramics, Technology, and Design, Roberto dedicated his life and career to clay.

In 2001, he moved to England and established Pottery Gagliano in Brighton. Over the years, he has collaborated with renowned artists including Dan Baldwin, David Shrigley, Sam Toft, and most recently worked with the team behind Gladiator 2.

Roberto is also a passionate teacher. He has guided and inspired about 400 thousands of students, building a vibrant community of potters around him. His deep knowledge, enthusiasm, and generosity in sharing his craft make him a truly inspiring presence in the studio.
